1960 BENTLEY S-2 CONTINENTAL H.J. MULLINER "SPUR COUPE" BC2LAR - 67,512 Miles
Description
The very first left drive of only 24 of these alloy bodied works of art built and in fact the first example regardless of driving position, this undamaged never corroded 67,512 mile specimen was beautifully relacquered for the first time in its history in the UK about 15 years ago in Velvet Green lacquer, further improved to show quality by ourselves. In early 1997 at 66,146 miles it was complimented as per the specification of our very knowledgeable and meticulous client of the time by our complete retrim of the interior in Saddle Tan Connolly hides piped Spruce Green accented by a first time Concours quality refinish of its especially beautiful burl walnut veneers. It has been in the hands of careful collectors since.

This was the Earls Court Show Car before delivery to the East Hampton, Long Island residence of its first owner. (Interestingly, by 1997 ownership of that New York estate had passed to our above mentioned client. BC2LAR returned to its first home after nearly four decades). Consequently it hosts a number of specially ordered features including Sundym glass throughout, full refrigeration (air conditioning) markedly improved with today's technology and H.J.Mulliner design pushbutton operated electric window lifts.

The mechanical aspects have been thoroughly prepared to provide years of motoring pleasure. The complete braking system hydraulics in accord with our policies has been rebuilt. The gearbox and differential have been serviced and carefully adjusted to function as designed. The springs and suspension have been serviced and adjusted for correct ride height and shock damper travel. The radial tires are of the same height and whitewall width as the bias ply 800X15s shown in the factory photo of this car when it was new. Although its performance indicated no problems, our regard for this important automobile prompted the decision to rebuild the original engine including the desirable upgrade to S-3 internal specification and fitment of superior ignition and cooling system components.

Complete exceptionally nice hand tools in their original special H.J.Mulliner box and correct mint condition owner's handbook are present along with copies of the factory chassis record and Mulliner Coachwork specifications.

This is by far the finest of necessarily few left drives available anywhere.
