| Description |
One of 33 left drives built, this second series example was supplied from new with the desirable heavier rear axle shafts, large valve large carburetor cylinder head, dual master cylinder braking system and more.
Finished in the period color layout of Sand over Walnut with Buckskin hides, the exterior bodywork, paint and chrome plating were restored to a high standard several years ago for the discriminating gentleman who acquired it in August 1979.
Still in nice order, it is offered with complete small and large tools, correct handbook package with dashboard supplement tags and the impossible to replace original Park Ward Coachwork instructions for this chassis, body #J.62, original radio in working order, and copies of the original factory records.
The photos posted were supplied by the most recent owner. Fresh ones will replace them later this month when the very strong mechanical aspects of the automobile have been reviewed and serviced as per our usual procedures so as to require only your enjoyment upon enclosed carrier delivery to your door.
Observations upon arrival to our facility:
The interior wood veneers are in nice condition, but the finish could stand to be restored as they appear to have been untouched for 54 years. The leather replacement was quite professionally executed and the result is pleasing and usable but the grade and finish of the hides are not correct for judging standards. A period air conditioner was neatly installed. The ducting and appearance of the outlets and unit are not as a factory unit. All of these items can be redone by ourselves to Concours quality upon request.
As our schedule permits, we may also elect to perform those operations before resale.
This is a beautiful example, usable in its present condition with or without the noted available upgrades.
AS OF MARCH 22: The veneers have now been refinished to show standards and are being re-installed. The mechanical aspects have been well prepared including but not limited to: Re-arch rear springs, replace fronts for proper standing and ride height. Replace leaking shock damper. Replace tires. Remove front wing mounted side mirrors, fill holes and refinish, install door vent window mounted units. Prepare paint finish to showroom order, replace incorrect pinstriping. Replace head gasket, regrind valves, rebuild carburetors, recore radiator, upgrade cooling and air conditioning systems including installation of correct evaporator and outlet vents.
As yet we have not chosen to replace the interior as it was previously done by a fomer owner and is quite usable, though strictly speaking not of show quaility.
