| Description |
A freshly restored example finished for the first time since new in Gunmetal Grey over Black Pearl complimented by its carefully reconditioned original Scarlet hides, it was during the course of our one year refurbishment also equipped with very efficient roof ducted air conditioning as found on the one-off S-3 Bentley BC22LXC redone by us several years ago incorporated into the new wool broadcloth headliner, complete chassis and engine detail and preparation and upgraded cooling system. We believe the result is the finest of necessarily few left drive examples available anywhere in the world.
Our observations and description of the automobile upon our initial acquisition in entirely original order appear below:
One of only 18 left drive aluminum bodied Sports Saloons built 1963-1966 as companions to their more numerous and deservedly popular Bentley cousins, this never before offered example has traveled only 72,543 two owner miles since delivered to Mr. George V.V.Brothers on May 7, 1965. It was resold through a dealer on July 29, 1968. Mr. Brothers was also the owner of LSEV311, a wonderful Standard Sedan Silver Cloud III which happily is in the collection of one of our clients and friends today.
The automobile is an extremely strong beautifully handling performer in entirely original and usable order although well patinaed as far as its cosmetic aspects are concerned. The body is excellent with beautiful panel fit and the original Ivory lacquer is in fairly good condition in light of its age. The original Red hides are soft and supple and have only light surface racking. The padding of the driver's seat cushion can be renewed, and the rest of the seats' shapes are quite proud. In our opinion, the original headliner and carpets should be replaced, especially in the trunk area. The interior woods are original and the veneers are intact but the finish should be redone.
Complete tools in their special Mulliner box, original radio in working order, original handbook and supplement in their original paper jacket, original factory warranty with Mr. Brothers' name in calligraphy and copies of the factory records (showing the power windows to be original) accompany the vehicle.
